| I was born in a nominal christian family in Kutch, Gujarat.My name is OOMMEN VERGHISE. My mother was the first person in our family who accepted Jesus.My mother had dedicated me to the Lord when I was in her womb. So since childhood my parents lead me in fear of God.
At the age of 9,I accepted JESUS as my personal savior and was filled with the Holy Spirit and heard a voice ,"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another"John 1:16.Soon I got baptised at Church of God,Kerala.
After my graduation in Gujarat and Theological studies in M.P.I waited on the Lord and determined to do his ministry only after getting a call from the Lord,till then I was doing a business of Ship Chandling &Ship repairing in Gujarat till 1984.
On June 1983,I got married my wife's name is Jacqueline.As per divine call, I left my business and we dedicated for the Lord's ministry in 1984. as we had a burden for the perishing souls .We got our Church registered in MUMBAI named as CHRISTIAN REVIVAL CENTER.Our ministry is amongst the Gentiles,mostly people who speak different languages.
God blessed us with 2 sons Benjamin & Blaise.They are studing.The Lord led us through all the ups and downs in our life.Once in a vision I saw a person in white robe led me through fields and showed me how to catch fishes there were different kinds of fishes and handed over those fishes to me and said this is how you win souls for my kingdom and do the ministry in different places.So the Lord helped us to his work in India and gave oppurtunities to go different countries too.
By the grace of God the ministry is growing inspite of the oppositions we have in Mumbai.In 2002 we had to face some persecutions from the Shiv sainiks who broke into our house destroyed our household things,vehicles,etc.They chased my wife and son anyway they escaped but they beat me and my co-worker severally.We even had oppositions while conducting mini-crusades in some places in Mumbai where they hurled stones on the stage but not one stone hit us.
God's mighty hand was with us and we could see a great Revival throughout.We have Church Ministry,Training centre,and Prayer ministry.We have co-workers and Pastors speaking different languages which is of great use in spreading the Gospel in India.
We claim that India would be a land for the living God,the Lord who rules and reigns will redeem the people from the bondage of idolatry,bondage of tradition,bondage of darkness and let their eyes be opened to see the resurrected living GOD. |
